I adore picnics - sitting on a picnic rug, sipping sparkling peach juice, eating delicious sandwiches, watching the husbands kick the football around with the kids... the joys are endless! I come from a family where picnic food is strictly chilled with the only hot exception being a flask of tea.
It might sound a little too idylic (aka corny) but when you live in the desert and the Winter finally arrives for a few months of the year, you have to take full advantage. So I have put together The Perfect Picnic, with all the details for you to recreate. I think it's safe to say, we've done our fair share of research for this particular post. All those afternoon teas at home with mum, cups upon cups of tea and countless pinterest/google searches and frantic phone calls to family members to get that perfect recipe has been leading up to this. A short but well rounded list of the best scones and cream tea in Dubai. We had almost given up hope of getting a good cream tea in the desert but we have finally found the places to get scones served to us, with tea, and not have to clean the mess! Hurrah!
Here is a great Banana Cake recipe that is perfect to use up those overripe bananas you have laying around the kitchen waiting to be eaten. The lemon buttercream is the perfect tangy accompaniment to the fluffy banana cake beneath. INGREDIENTS
LEMON BUTTERCREAM
My favourite British treat! This is the humble flapjack but a extra sweet topping.
We don't really have British flapjacks in Australia, not that I have come across anyway. I guess the closest thing would be an Anzac Slice or biscuit the only big difference that these are way more delectable (sorry Australia!). The original Flapjack is plain with no icing or topping, hence the name of my version, Jammy Jacks. Ingredients
I was so apprehensive about making homemade Cinnamon Rolls, but I was shocked at how well they turned out! It was just as yummy as having a fresh bun at Cinnabon with the added bonus of self accomplishment. It goes down a treat.
